Jody Wallace offers more than 30 years of senior level expertise within the hospitality industry in operations, sales and marketing. She established EMCVenues in 2001 to provide the highest quality strategic meeting management services, in a customer oriented environment. The company has experienced remarkable growth and continuous stability as well as boasts an exceptional customer service rating of 98.8%. After seven years, under Ms. Wallace’s leadership, EMCVenues was honored by the national business magazine, Entrepreneur, as one of the “Top 50 Fastest Growing Women­ led Companies in North America.”
Ms. Wallace has held professional positions with many major hotel brands, including Loews, Ramada, Hilton and Marriott Corporation. She served as national sales director for Ramada International in New York City. Ms. Wallace subsequently joined Thayer Lodging Group to help launch the conference center division, and was responsible for the development of operational and marketing standards. She had a considerable impact on the division’s development, and grew operating profits by an extraordinary 30% annually.
In 1991, Ms. Wallace assumed the mantle of entrepreneur after identifying the evolving need for a strong and effective interface between the sales and marketing programming of hotels and conference centers. This included independent properties, and the vast corporate meeting planning and training community nationally ­­and eventually, internationally.
Through her thought leadership, deep understanding of strategic meetings management and importance of staying ahead of the curve has always advocated education. Ms. Wallace established MEET USA, a complimentary educational conference for meeting planners to take away best practices solutions, covers current and relevant information for this ever changing industry. Since its inception over 10 years ago, MEET has been held in various locations around the county and has become the industry term for meeting industry education. EMCVenues also sponsors complimentary educational webinars presented by industry experts with topics that cover the meeting and event life cycle. Ms. Wallace has also given numerous presentations at industry event on meeting trends, sales, marketing and operations on strategic meetings management and the hospitality industry.
Ms. Wallace sits on many hotel advisory councils and is actively involved with Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). In addition to her industry involvement, Ms. Wallace also believes in the importance of giving back to your community. She is currently the president of the Brielle Education Foundation (BEF) in her hometown of Brielle, NJ. Ms. Wallace and her team work closely with the community and businesses to raise monies for technology to donate to the Brielle Elementary School – raising the bar of education in the classrooms for children. Under her leadership and guidance, the BEF has enough funds to provide a promethean board in every classroom as well as the latest ActiVote and Active Expression interactive devices, for several classrooms, keeping students engaged in education. Ms. Wallace’s deep commitment to education for children and meeting planners is continuously evolving and advancing with the times - bringing education and careers to a higher level.
