May 2017 - Katie Searle joins the Meeting Services Team and will serve as an Account Director over several key accounts. Katie’s expertise in the International Meetings Market and project management of large Congresses will compliment EMCVenue s growth and direction to best service its clients. Katie earned her CMP designation in 2008 and has 20+ years in the Meeting and Events industry.  Katie commented on her new role with EMCVenues  – “I am very excited to be joining EMCVenue s. As a client of 12-years, I will bring the same experience and support to EMCVenues  clients that has been afforded to me.  It’s important to me to align myself with a forward thinking and innovative company that is committed to meeting excellence.  I am ready to be a part of their growth and support of their large client base.

April 2017 – EMCVenues  received excellent feedback from our Clients at our Advisory Council Meeting. As a result, we are putting several initiatives into motion, to include:

  • Team Activities: Develop programs and a network of suppliers to support our clients need to bring people together and enhance team spirit
  • Onsite Registration: Offer an enhanced onsite experience to the attendee registration process
  • Mobile Apps:  Provide enhanced project management and building support, as well as make it affordable through bulk purchasing across all our clients

April 2017 – EMCVenues  invites meeting planners to join us for MEETUSA 2017 on July 20, 2017 at Twelve Hotel Atlantic Station in Atlanta GA.  Join us for a day of networking and education to include:

March 2017 – EMCVenues  welcomes Gerard Lebeda to its Executive Team as the Vice President of Operations.  Gerard most recently served as Deputy Director for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars, a program he led for the past 13 years which included meetings at high profile venues such as The White House and National Institutes of Health. As a Convention/Meeting Planner for a large medical publishing company, he spent many years overseeing a team attending medical, dental and pharmaceutical conferences throughout the United States.

March 2017 – EMCVenues  hosts top Clients for 2017 Customer Advisory Council Meeting at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. EMCVenues  recognizes the importance of maintaining a culture built around education, strong personal relationships and the needs of our customers. This cutting-edge event will provide our key Client partners with valuable insights into the state of our industry and current meeting trends, while networking and interfacing with peer meeting professionals.

March 2017 – Save the Date for EMCVenues  MEET USA 2017 on Thursday, July 20, 2017.  We have selected the Twelve Hotel Atlantic Station in Atlanta Georgia to host our signature event.  More information to come… 

February 2017 – EMCVenues’  focus on continuing education takes our Meeting Services Team for an off-site Training Meeting in Bridgewater NJ.  We’ll be learning new features of the Cvent platform and how we can use these tools to better serve our Clients.

February 2017 – EMCVenues  provided on site meeting support, on site tech support and a customized mobile app for a key Client’s National Sales Meeting at the Venetian Las Vegas.  Our team ensured each detail was flawlessly executed for this group of 1300 attendees.

December 2016 - EMCVenues  record sales growth of 58%! 

November 2016 – Yvonne Escudie and Kristin Rogers attended Connect Georgia at the St. Regis.  This iconic property in Atlanta Georgia is the perfect fit for high level meetings and events.  Yvonne and Kristin were especially impressed by the exceptional service.  Associates from across the property were gracious and welcoming. 

October 2016 – Jean Jett attended IMEX America, the largest trade show and hosted buyer program in the U.S. for the meeting, event and incentive travel industry. Jean’s focus was to strengthen EMCVenues  partnership with our Supplier Partners as well as make new contacts on behalf of the company.

September 2016 - EMCVenues  welcomes Susan Cohen to the Sourcing Team.  Susan brings 6 years of hotel conference service management experience and 17 years in event planning and sourcing, with a focus on pharmaceutical and healthcare clients.

August 2016 – EMCVenues  welcomes the littlest member to our family.  Congratulations to Kayla and Jake Manus on the birth of beautiful Lexi Elizabeth. And a special shout out to Sherry Awbrey, Lexi’s proud Grandmother – we’re as thrilled as you are! 

August 2016 – Yvonne Escudie and Jean Woellner Bonner attended Connect Marketplace 2016 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine TX.  Jean was selected for a private meet & greet with none other than actor Rob Lowe. 

July 2016 - EMCVenues MEETUSA 2016 welcomed a fabulous group of meeting professionals and hospitality industry suppliers for a full day of education, networking and fun.  With a focus on meeting planning automation, we learned from exciting speakers including Brian Ludwig, Sr. Vice President Cvent, on how the meetings industry is being transformed from the Age of Information to the Age of Experience.  Highlights included an informative discussion from our panel of meeting planning experts, as well as the highly interactive Click Game.  EMCVenues  extends our sincere thanks to the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center, along with our sponsors and supplier partners – we could not put on this program without your support. 

July 2016 -  EMCVenues  is gearing up for MEETUSA 2016. This much anticipated event combines comprehensive educational tracks and training for qualified meeting professionals, along with networking opportunities with top hoteliers in an intimate atmosphere.  Join us on July 26, 2016 at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Conference Center for this must attend event.

July 2016 – EMCVenues  has been selected by a leading international technology company to provide Strategic Meetings Management.  EMCVenues  will build a dedicated meeting registration portal and provide sourcing and contracting services, in addition to reporting on meeting spend, cost savings and cost avoidance.

June 2016 – Jody Wallace, Sherry Awbrey and Debbie Odden attended Cvent Connect in Las Vegas, Nevada.  EMCVenues  was an early adopter of the Cvent platform and this year’s conference focused on the latest event management trends, technologies and methodologies. 

June 2016- EMCVenues  becomes the number one rowing regatta housing company in United States.  They handle 28 regattas throughout the country providing hotel and housing arrangements to over 250 teams and clubs.

June 2016 -  EMCVenues  welcomes Chris Dent to the Meeting Services Team.  Chris brings 13 years of hotel experience in conference management and sales, and a 14 year background in pharmaceutical meeting planning to EMCVenues .

June 2016 - EMCVenues  announce MEET USA 2016 to be held at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, GA on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.  This year's topic will be on Automation for the Meeting Planner.

June 2016 - Lauren Hanna, Attendee Registration Coordinator, joins the EMCVenues  team.  Lauren’s diverse background in event coordination will be an asset to the attendee registration team helping to build, promote and manage events for are large customer base

April 2016 – EMCVenues  provided meeting planning logistics and onsite support at multiple high level resorts including: Loews Ventana Canyon, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, The Greenbrier and the Westin Hilton Head Island. 

March 2016 - EMCVenues  is pleased to announce we have been selected as the official housing company of the 2016 Head of the Charles Regatta.  This dynamic event brings the world’s best crew teams to the banks of the Charles River for an ultimate two-day rowing competition. The event attracts over 11,000 athletes and tens of thousands of spectators to Boston annually. 

February 2016 – Jessica Burke, Meeting Coordinator joins the EMCVenues  team. Jessica’s background includes meeting planning, client services and project management. Jessica looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the company!

February 2016 – Tara Lisa, Meeting Manager joins the EMCVenues  team. Tara joins us with 15 years in Corporate Meeting and Event Management.  Her experience with developing client relationships, on and off site Event Management and overall logistical execution will be a value added as we expand our client basis providing a complete meeting source.

February 2016 - Kelli Cassarino, Souring Coordinator, joins the EMCVenues  Team. She is a graduate from the University of West Georgia where she received her Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Kelli brings 6 years of experience in corporate marketing and accounting to the team. During her time in corporate marketing, Kelli focused on planning and executing various meetings and events throughout the southeastern United States.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering throughout her community. She serves as a committee chairperson for the Newnan Junior Service League.

January 2016 – EMCVenues  continues its’ partnership with a leading Animal Health company to deliver sourcing, contracting and complete meetings management for a series of over 75 Client education and entertainment events taking place at high level resorts across the US.

January 2016- EMCVenues  welcomes Barry Lawlor as our Director of Information Technology. Barry brings a background from 20 years of military aviation and computer service. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Masters of Aeronautical Science in Management, and has worked with cutting edge computer technology during his military career. He is a proven leader and manager with a diverse skillset that translates perfectly into the meeting planning world.

December 2015 - EMCVenues  was appointed by a National Restaurant Client to place over 30 training programs across the country.  From setting up site visits to sourcing and contracting, EMCVenues  enlisted the assistance of our Hotel Global Sales partners.  EMCVenues  was able to find the perfect properties, which had both the meeting space required for the training, in addition to aligning with our Client's branding.

December 2015 - EMCVenues  partnered with the USRowing Association for their Annual National Convention and provided meeting management services to include site selection, pre meeting logistics and on site program management.

December 2015 - For the Holidays, EMCVenues  would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal Clients and Hotel Partners.  In the true spirit of being thankful and giving to others, and in lieu of gifts, EMCVenues  has made donations to several deserving organizations:  The American Cancer Association, local families in need, and Wounded Warriors.

November 2015 - Jean Woellner Bonner, Sr. Sales Manager, in our EMCV Housing Department is focusing on introducing Texas Youth Lacrosse to EMCVenues  and the services we provide to the teams.  Jean is based in Austin Texas and has an extensive background in sporting events of all kinds.

November 2015 - Members of EMCVenues ' Atlanta Regional Office attended events hosted by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Retreats Resources and Ritz Carlton.  It's always great to catch up with longtime industry partners and meet new friends.

October 2015 - Kristin Rogers and Michelle Fiorelli, from EMCVenues  Sourcing Team, attended IMEX America at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.  IMEX America gave EMCVenues  the opportunity to meet with many hotels we currently do business with, as well as discover new properties from around the world, all while networking and swapping wisdom with peers.

October 2015 - EMCVenues  continues its partnership as the official Housing Partner for the 2015 University of Texas Longhorn Shootout, 2015 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta and the 2015 Head of the Ohio Regatta.  To make hotel reservations, links for each event are located in our Events Calendar.  EMCVenues  Housing Team secured the best rates, locations and amenities and makes it easy to view hotel accommodations, compare rates, and book rooms for teams and their accompanying spectators.

September 2015 - EMCVenues  has been busy working with top hotels and resorts around the country this month to deliver some amazing events on behalf of their Clients.  Check out our Facebook page to see some great hotel pictures and locations.  The hotels provided the utmost in service and we would like to thank them for helping us deliver exceptional client events.  Thank you to the Grand Traverse Resort, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake, Marriott Marco Island, Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark and Pavilion Hotel Avalon.

September 2015 - EMCVenues  has recently been selected  as the new SMM USA supplier for a large pharma company headquartered in the Northeast and Europe.  EMCVenues  will help the company implement a full SMM program this fall.  The goals of the program will help the company analyze and review total meeting spend, develop strategies for cost savings, and provide hotel sourcing and negotiations for all meetings.  This is very exciting news for EMCVenues  as they continue to support corporations who want to implement an SMM program into their companies with a decentralized environment.  The end result - meeting transparency, cost savings, and documented reporting.

August 2015 - Kayla Manus, an Intern for the past four years, has now joined EMCVenues  on a full time basis.  She has been assigned to the EMCVenues  Housing Team to secure hotels for the many events managed annually.  Please join EMCVenues  in congratulating Kayla on her recent graduation and new position within EMCVenues .

August 2015 - EMCVenues  has had a very busy August, planning and managing 15 large client events around the continental U.S.  We have had the opportunity to work with some amazing hotels and resorts this month.  Thank you The Lodge at Sea Island, Enchantment Resort, Grand Geneva Resort, Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa, The Grand Marriott Hotel, The James Hotel, and Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa, just to name a few.  We appreciate the excellent service provided to our VIP Clients and we look forward to partnering with these fabulous properties in the future.

July 2015 - Thank you to all who joined us for EMCVenues  MEET USA 2015!  Hosting over 75 Meeting Planners and 25 Supplier Partners, the EMCVenues  Team put together a day of actionable education and abundant networking.  Highlights included an informative (and entertaining!) presentation on the State of the US Hotel Industry presented by Jan Freitag, Sr. Vice President of STR.  The afternoon Quick Talks centered on current Seller's Market and input from Planners and Suppliers was both insightful and collaborative.  A special thank you to our friends at the Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina for delivering outstanding services and creative Food and Beverage presentations throughout the stay.

July 2015 - Join EMCVenues  in congratulating Susan Poland on her promotion to Vice President of Housing and Events.  Susan joined EMCVenues  in 2007 and has built and led the Housing Department since 2011.

June 2015 - Congratulations Kayla Manus, EMCVenues  Coordinator, on earning her degree with honors in Elementary Education Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology from Liberty University.  Kayla has been with EMCVenues  for four years, as she worked on her degree, and supports the Sourcing and Housing Teams.

June 2015 - Debbie Odden, Sr. Event & Logistics Manager and Hayley Ketchum, Housing Sales Manager, attended the Cvent Connect Conference at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.  Hayley joined Debbie in earning the Cvent Certified Event Management Professional designation.  Congratulations Debbie and Hayley!

May 2015 - Yvonne Escudie joined PCMA SE Chapter and attended the May Educational program at the Georgia World Congress Center.  Timely information was presented on Internet for meetings with a focus on infrastructure and pricing.

May 2015 - EMCVenues  Housing Division partnered with a record breaking 280 teams to provide hotel reservation services across multiple Regattas and Tournaments across the country.  Congratulations to all the Youth, High School and Collegiate level players from your Cheerleaders at EMCVenues !

March 2015 - Sherry Awbrey participated in the Fairmont Hotels Canada's Western Mountain Region Business Development Trip.  The incredible Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise served as home base and included tours of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Fairmont Banff Sprigs + dog-sledding adventure!

March 2015 - EMCVenues  has partnered with a leading Animal Health company to deliver end to end Meetings Management for a large series of Client Events in 2015.  Included in the project management are site selection sourcing and contracting, website build and attendee registration, onsite management, post event surveys and full payment management of all suppliers.  EMCVenues  team structure and service approach ensures each step of the project exceed Client expectations while delivering measurable ROI.

March 2015 - EMCVenues  welcomes Michelle Fiorelli as our newest Director of National Accounts.  For the past 21 years Michelle has worked in every spectrum of the meetings industry.  With extensive knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech segments, Michelle brings a wealth of information that benefits our Clients for sourcing and meeting planning services.

February 2015 - Teresa Cirillo, Director of Meeting Services, and the EMCVenues  Meeting Services Team provided a customized mobile app and website for attendee registration, pre-meeting logistics, on site program management services to one of the top orthodontic companies for their annual world congress.  Over 600 attendees fro around the world gathered to take part in insightful education and extensive networking opportunities.

Data collected for meetings taking place between January - June 2014 show significant gains for our Clients! July 2014 – EMCVenues  is proud to announce the promotion of Teresa Cirillo, CMP to Director of Meeting Services. An industry veteran with over 11 years of corporate and incentive planning experience, Teresa will lead the Meeting Services Team in delivering customized solutions for our Client’s pre-meeting planning and logistics, attendee registration, on site management and post event follow-up services.

From March-July 2014 - EMCVenues  provided Meeting Registration and Planning support for our animal health Client. This support allowed the district sales managers to focus on attending to their clients to increase future sales and client loyalty.  These large events took place in San Antonio, New Orleans, Amelia Island, and Marco Island.

Bertka brings more than 22 years of meetings, conventions and event industry with proven sales and customer management experience to EMCVenues . September 2013 – EMCVenues upgrades to its Bill Retrieval, Review, Reconciliation and Resolution is a great success. EMCVenues is reconciling what was negotiated with the venue, getting invoices expedited sooner and error free. This allows EMCVenues to more accurately report on cost savings and avoidance quarterly and annually. Dedicated accounting staff thoroughly reviews the bill to ensure pricing and concessions match the contract. Any discrepancies are immediately resolved and the clients receive the final bill for their review within 7-10 days. August 2013 – Higher level education, top meeting industry professionals with industry suppliers and corporate social responsibility in face-to-face, collaborative, small meeting setting combined with good content, technology, one-on-one’s and activities, made this year’s MEET USA Summit a huge success. August 2013 – EMCVenues'  event housing management continues to grow. To date EMCVenues has handled housing for more than 300 sporting tournaments and events from regional to national championships for Golf, Hockey, Lacrosse and Rowing; booked over 30,000 room nights; and has more than 100 relationships with major hotels chains and the most popular independent resorts throughout the U.S. and international destinations. July 2013 - MEET USA Summit 2013 tops 100 registered attendees, special guests, speakers and sponsors.  Two days will be dedicated to discussing the future of meetings and the value of face to face meetings.  Attendees will discuss and collaborate on timely topics including what is going on in the hotel industry, contracting, meeting policy and where the meeting industry is heading with the advancement of technology, mobile apps, smart phones, tablets, the cross generations, corporate social responsibility etc. Engaging the audience including incorporating the five senses, utilizing different delivery systems to target all generations. July 2013 - EMCVenues  Housing division launches new team and spectator hotel reservation website prototype.  This new site is easy to navigate, very comprehensive, a central source for information – one stop and streamlines the hotel booking process for teams and spectators. The site includes hotels and a comparison grid providing an overview of all the hotels, rates, distance to event and amenities, area information such as restaurants, local attractions, shopping, etc., area map, directions, booking process and important deadlines as well as a section regarding the host and a link to the event website.

July 2013 – EMCVenues successfully launches its First Mobile Application for a Meeting in June and the feedback was astounding. The client, a large pharmaceutical, was extremely happy going paperless and attendees were thrilled with the ease, functionality and content provided in the mobile application on mobile devices.  EMCVenues led efforts to develop this application which eliminated all hardcopy materials for the meeting providing a positive impact for the environment.  This positive experience is paving the way for other programs to do so as well.  Through the application, attendees were able to review all the meeting materials and interact with one another and the public.  The following is a brief overview of the capabilities of this application: Agenda, Abstracts, Notes, Bios and Photos, Twitter and Maps.

June 2013 – EMCVenues welcomes Tim Robinson as Systems and Technology Manager. Tim will build housing and registration websites, manage IT and analytics. Tim brings over 20 years extensive experience in IT project management including software design, development and implementation. Tim is an effective team builder and team player with excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills.  Major strengths include a broad business background (banking, card processing and risk management) across multiple platforms and architectures, strong analytical and problem solving skills, a thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and a strong commitment to excellence.

May 2013 – EMCVenues welcomes Julie Batten, CMP as Senior Sourcing Manager for Destinations and Venues.  Julie brings more than 10 years sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry specializing in the association, non-profit and corporate markets. In her most recent position at Emory Conference Center Hotel, Julie continuously achieved her annual revenue goal for top producing market segment based on one of the highest sales goals. While at Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park, Julie was responsible for marketing to corporate clients for golf tournaments and food and beverage events. Julie also offers expertise in contract negotiation, site inspections, promotions, market strategy and analysis and planning.

May 2013 – EMCVenues  is gearing up for Spring and Summer Sports Housing Events.  With over 30 unique events, EMCVenues  extends its housing call center hours to accommodate teams, participants and spectators. These varieties of sporting events extend from regional and national championships spanning the sports arenas of Golf, Hockey, Lacrosse and Rowing. 

May 2013 - EMCVenues  creates a Meeting Policy Template to help its customers develop and enhance their company's meeting policies. The template provides the must-have section along with numerous examples to help build their own policy program.

April 2013 – EMCVenues successfully closes its first quarter of 2013 acquiring eleven new customers and adding to its staffing levels. These clients’ decision to go with EMCVenues was based on in-depth reviews of other meeting management companies through an RFP process. EMCVenues had the full strategic meetings management offerings, the expertise, advanced technology and the staff these companies were looking for in a partner. In addition, the fact that EMCVenues  customizes programs to fit their needs and budget was a major factor.

April 2013 - EMCVenues  is expanding its sourcing team  to meet the needs of its current clients’ business volume growth and new client development program.  EMCVenues  hires skilled sourcing staff that has worked in the hospitality industry and understands the inner workings of a hotel, which lends itself to better negotiations and contract terms and conditions.  New staff undergoes a rigid training program for six months.

April 2013 - EMCVenues is taking its MEET USA conference, which is now MEET USA Summit, to the next level.  The MEET USA Summit will be an exclusive, invitation only conference with EMCVenues’  clients, key meeting industry leaders across the country as well as top hotels, resorts and destinations.  The theme is the Future of Meetings and will feature “Face Time”. April 2013 – 95% of EMCVenues  clients are extremely and very satisfied with its full-service strategic meetings management offerings – Sourcing, Planning, Registration and Housing. Sourcing, contract negotiation and reporting received 96%. Meeting Planning and Execution including onsite management and reporting received 93%.  Attendee Registration including service process, registration website and reporting received 92%. Event Housing Management including our service process, reservation website and reporting received 100%. 

April 2013 - EMCVenues  enhances its reporting functions. In addition to providing a roll up report each quarter to its customers, EMCVenues now provides a report out at the conclusion of each meeting.  This detailed post event reporting is a great resource for our customers  to have on file to review the actual meeting spend to the meeting budget, along with the actual pick up to what was blocked, total cost savings and avoidance, and more.

April 2013 – Based on EMCVenues’  client feedback, it will be launching a Rewards Program in May of 2013 that will also include incentives for referrals. There will be several different reward options available.

March 2013 - EMCVenues listens to feedback, follows trends and responds by enhancing its attendee management services by adding mobile applications for meetings. Clients impressed with these mobile application features have purchased them for their meetings. Factors in their decision included: Go Green; All meeting information is in the palm of attendee’s hands; Attendees download contact information for meeting participants to their own address books; Flag preferred sessions to create a personalized agenda; Real time seesion surveys; Live tweeting; Ability to view agenda in many different forms.

March 2013 - Based on customer feedback, Bill Retrieval, Review, Reconciliation and Resolution gets an upgrade. EMCVenues  is getting tougher with contract negotiations and hotels are being asked to list all concessions on contract, explain exactly what the concession negotiated is and the cost to savings allowing EMCVenues  to more accurately report on cost savings and avoidance quarterly and annually. EMCVenues thoroughly reviewing hotels invoices for oversights and overcharges making the hotel accountable and in the end "0" mistakes. RESULTS FROM EMCVENUES  2012 TEST:  Small sampling of customers saved $36,000 in discrepancies over 6-Months!!!

March 2013 - Customers asked EMCVenues  to review their contract addendum and EMCVenues  legal counsel made updates. Changes included cancellation by hotel clauses to protect client if hotel cancels; force majeure to include Department of Homeland's new terrorism warning systems; and hotel quality, facilities and safety clauses, which lets the hotel know it is important to the group. EMCVenues has also set up separate addendum's for "large" and "small" meetings.

March 2013 - Based on demand, EMCVenues implements a small/day meeting management program. Most companies have an abundance of small and day meetings that take just as much work, significant time and staff resources planning and executing as medium and large meetings. EMCVenues is listening and responding expanding its team to provide a dedicated sourcing staff.

March 2013 - EMCVenues enriches its housing team hiring Kimberly Wuelfing as housing coordinator. Kimberly brings strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and written/oral communication skills and stays customer focused with her previous experience in sales and office management. In these positions, Kimberly had strong product knowledge and customer commitment allowing her to surpass or achieve sales goals. With her exceptional customer service skills, she actively engaged with clients, built trust and long-term relationships.

February 2013 - EMCVenues  completes the results of its 2012 Customer Satisfaction Survey. Overall 95% of our clients are extremely and very satisfied with all our products and services. We also received an overall rating of 95% extremely and very satisfied for the value they receive from our staff and service offerings. January 2013 - The National Golf Association hires EMCVenues to manage the housing for several of its tournaments for 2013 pro golf tours. The National Golf Association (NGA) is the number one developmental golf tour in the United States. Golfers from all over the country participate and qualify to become PGA golfers of the future.
